Caring for someone with dementia poses many challenges for professional caregivers. Dementia caregiving is a world where the “normal” rules don’t apply and we all need guidance learning to support, motivate, and keep people with dementia safe. Providing specialist dementia training for caregivers makes a huge difference in many ways.

This Seminar:

  • Aims to help caregivers understand how dementia affects each person as they progress through the disease stages

  • Identifies the intense challenges families and those close to them must adapt to

  • Includes repetitive reinforcement of proper techniques to use while interacting with dementia patients

  • Reviews examples of scenarios with patients who have challenging behaviors, wandering, etc. and gives techniques to utilize in these situations

Jennifer Hall is a registered nurse with over 21 years experience working with Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. Jennifer’s inspiring passion and use of real life examples along with proven techniques brings dimension to her presentation. She will empower each member of your team by giving them the confidence to expand their abilities and to become a more valued dementia resource.

Seminar Details:
This 8 hour seminar can be held at your facility depending on space availability or an alternative location can be discussed.


8:00am Registration
8:30am - 5:00pm Seminar (30 minute lunch break on your own)

Cost:
$200 per person and includes Student Handout Notebook and certificate of training completion.

*No videotaping, laptops, or cell phone use  permitted in the seminar.

This is the required Course for those pursuing CDP® certification and who qualify through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. Additional fees apply. Cancellation Policy:

All cancellations must be received by email no later that two weeks prior to seminar (there is a $75 cancellation fee.) If the cancellation is after this date no refund will be given.
