Sheree Paolello, WLWT's news anchor talks about Cheering for Charity.

“Current research studies indicate that one of the most important therapies in maintaining brain health is cognitive stimulation. Music provides such stimulation and engages the brain while providing an enjoyable activity. Music therapy has also been observed to help quiet the agitation associated with dementia. I have had the privilege of working with the Cheering for Charity Foundation for several years and I admire their commitment to patients and families afflicted by dementia. I expect that the Cheering Voices program will continue to be as successful as all of their other endeavors.”

The Cheering Voices program in Cincinnati, OH

The Cheering Voices helps to assure that patients with cognitive disorders can continue to cherish musical experiences while enjoying an enhanced quality of life. Live musicians and facilitators help engage nursing home residents affected by Dementia, Alzheimer’s and other memory disorders with their caregivers and family members.

Give a gift from the heart and watch someone's eyes light up. The Cheering Closet is stocked from donations of new personal items and gifts which are delivered to residents in nursing homes. The program provides a way to make seniors feel like they matter and distributes everyday items to those in need.
